Job Description: Lead MedCom Librarian
Role Summary
The MedCom Librarian is responsible for ensuring that all medical communication assets—such as charts, diagrams, and infographics—are accurately managed, tagged, and compliant within the MedDocs system. This role supports scientific communication efficiency by maintaining metadata accuracy, ensuring license compliance, and enabling seamless content reuse across Medical Information (MI) and Medical Affairs (MA) materials. The librarian acts as a quality gatekeeper and key liaison between content owners, reviewers, and compliance teams.
Key Responsibilities
· Ensure all uploaded assets follow standardized naming, tagging, and usage protocols within MedDocs.
· Review, validate, and enrich metadata to make assets easily discoverable and reusable.
· Continuously refine taxonomy and metadata schemas based on organizational needs.
· Verify license file linkage, monitor expiration dates, and ensure usage rights compliance prior to approval.
· Maintain accurate records for audit and compliance readiness.
· Manage relationships between components and MI/MA content, ensuring a traceable reuse history.
· Track asset adoption, licensing, and reuse trends to support data-driven decision-making and optimization strategies.
· Provide regular reports on asset performance and compliance status.
· Act as a quality gatekeeper for content submission and publication.
· Serve as a connector between content owners, reviewers, librarians, and compliance partners to ensure end-to-end process integrity.
Desired Profile
· Experience:
· 3–6 years of experience in Digital Asset Management (DAM) or Content Operations, ideally within Medical Communications or Pharma.
· Hands-on experience with Veeva Vault MedComms, MedDocs, or similar content management platforms.
· Knowledge & Technical Skills:
· Strong understanding of taxonomy, metadata standards, and asset lifecycle management.
· Working knowledge of Digital Rights Management (DRM) and licensing validation processes.
· Ability to generate and interpret asset usage and compliance reports.
· Proficiency in MS Excel, reporting tools, and content analytics dashboards.
· Soft Skills:
· Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and attention to detail.
· Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
· Proactive, collaborative mindset with a focus on quality and compliance.
· Education:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Science, Digital Media, Life Sciences, or related disciplines.
