LucidLink’s solution is designed for workflows involving huge files, massive data sets and real-time collaboration. Our customers include the world’s most creative companies like Paramount, Warner Brothers, Epic Games, Spotify, A+E and Netflix. We were founded in 2016 by storage industry experts and support over one billion customer files across more than 40+ countries. LucidLink is headquartered in San Francisco, California, has an engineering office in Sofia, Bulgaria, and remote employees across North America, Europe, and Australia.

About the role

LucidLink is scaling to serve larger and more demanding customers. As we do, performance, scalability, and infrastructure efficiency are becoming first-class product capabilities — not just engineering concerns.

We’re hiring a Senior Platform Product Manager to own this space.

This is a true platform PM role. You’ll work one layer below most user-facing product work, partnering directly with architects and senior engineers to turn deep technical improvements into clear, measurable outcomes for the business and for customers.

Consistent with how product management works at LucidLink, this role is outcomes-driven, not feature-driven.

What you’ll do

  • Own an outcome area covering platform performance, scalability, and (over time) cost efficiency

  • Partner directly with architects and senior engineers on performance, scalability, and metadata-related initiatives

  • Turn engineering benchmarking and technical insight into prioritized product decisions

  • Define success metrics and a review cadence to measure platform health and progress

  • Identify where the platform limits growth today and prioritize work accordingly

  • Make and communicate explicit tradeoffs between performance, cost, and reliability

  • Act as the product point of accountability for platform outcomes across Engineering, Product, and GTM

What we’re looking for

Required

  • Hands-on experience with core platform or infrastructure components (e.g. performance, scalability, metadata, storage, distributed systems)

  • Proven ability to work directly with architects and principal engineers as a credible partner

  • Experience owning platform or shared capabilities, not only user-facing features

  • Strong analytical skills and a track record of clear prioritization under constraints

  • Ability to connect technical work to business and customer outcomes, even when impact is indirect

  • Comfort making and defending tradeoffs (performance vs cost vs reliability)

  • Clear, precise communication of complex technical topics

Nice to have

  • Background as a software engineer earlier in your career

  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale systems or customers

  • Pragmatic use of AI tools for research, synthesis, and analysis (with sound judgment)

What success looks like (12–18 months)

  • Owns a clear, product-led roadmap for performance, scalability, and cost work

  • Defines and runs a small, meaningful set of platform metrics used to guide decisions

  • Enables LucidLink to support significantly larger customers in a measurable way

  • Delivers intentional performance improvements that improve workflows or unlock deals

  • Uses real market input (Sales, Solutions Engineering, customers) to shape platform priorities

  • Makes explicit tradeoffs that support pricing, margins, and reliability decisions

  • Clearly communicates platform outcomes internally and externally

This job is not for you if:

  • You primarily want to ship user-facing features

  • You’re uncomfortable going deep with engineers on systems, metrics, and tradeoffs

  • You expect fast, visible wins rather than incremental improvements that compound

  • You avoid making hard calls between performance, cost, and reliability

  • You want to build something entirely new rather than improve and scale an existing platform

Interview process (high level)

  • Recruiter screen

  • Hiring Manager interview (exec-level)

  • Required technical panel (architects / senior engineers)

  • Product panel (platform-adjacent PMs)

  • Take-home case + review
