The Position

OPSWAT is seeking a Global Payroll Manager to oversee international payroll operations. This role involves coordinating and processing payroll through third-party payroll providers while ensuring compliance with tax reporting, benefits administration, and payroll system maintenance. The position requires close collaboration with HR, Finance, and other organizational teams. Key responsibilities include managing day-to-day payroll operations, overseeing relationships with outsourced payroll services in international locations, and driving process standardization and improvement in global payroll controls. A strong knowledge of international labor laws, and in country personal income taxes and payroll related regulation. The Global Payroll Manager will report to the Finance Director and be part of the Finance organization.

What You Will be Doing

  • Oversee global payroll operations supported by third-party payroll providers to ensure compliance and timely processing in international jurisdictions, primarily in APAC, EMEA and META regions.
  • Audit payroll transactions and registers before finalization to ensure accurate input capture and proper review of payroll outputs.
  • Perform monthly payroll close duties, including preparing period-end accruals, journal entries, and assisting with payroll account reconciliations and flux analysis.
  • Develop and implement payroll processes, policies, and procedures to ensure strong internal controls.
  • Administer third-party payroll compliance, including statutory compliance and global employee reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with HR to ensure accurate reflection of benefits and other withholdings in payroll records.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and act as liaison between employees and third-party providers.
  • Provide guidance on complex payroll and tax issues in various international jurisdictions.
  • Prepare accounting papers, schedules, and summaries for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Collaborate with HR, Treasury, and Equity team on all employee compensation and funding related matters.
  • Handle Expense reimbursements.

What We Need from You

  • 8+ years of experience in payroll operations within a global, multi-national company, with a strong focus on international payroll.
  • Understanding of U.S. payroll taxation is a plus but not required.
  • Extensive experience working with third-party payroll processors in a global environment, including service providers or shared services for international payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, workflows, internal controls, and accounting for payroll-related activities.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to streamline processes at scale.
  • Strong organizational, detail-oriented, and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with TMF, Bamboo, and NetSuite is a plus.
  • Experience with global taxation of stock options is a plus.
  • Adaptable to changing work environments, ensuring accurate and on-time payroll delivery under various circumstances
  • Fluent in English
