The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead a critical initiative focused on building a unified and efficient technology ecosystem for our company. In this role, you will spearhead the development of an integration layer connecting all enterprise applications, and create a user-friendly employee portal serving as a central hub for all employee needs. You will build and lead a team of talented engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment to deliver impactful solutions that drive business value and enhance employee experience.

What You Will be Doing

  • Integration Layer Development:
    • Architect, design, and oversee the development of a comprehensive integration layer to seamlessly connect all enterprise applications, ensuring data consistency and efficient workflows across the organization.
    • Replace off-the-shelves integration tools like Boomi, Zapier and Exalate Salesforce connector with this new integration layer.
    • Collaborate with various application teams to understand integration requirements and ensure smooth onboarding of applications to the integration layer.
    • In collaboration with Enterprise Data team, design a Data Master to feed data to existing and future enterprise applications.
    • Monitor the performance and stability of the integration layer in collaboration with Service Desk team.
  • Employee Portal Development
    • Lead the development of an intuitive and user-friendly employee portal serving as a one-stop shop for all employee needs, such as accessing HR information, benefits, company news, internal tools, and resources.
    • Work closely with HR, IT, and other departments to gather requirements and design portal features that enhance employee experience and productivity.
    • Ensure the portal is accessible, responsive, and secure, providing a seamless experience across different devices.
    • Continuously improve the portal based on user feedback and evolving employee needs.
    • Promote the adoption and utilization of the employee portal across the organization.
  • Team Leadership & Management:
    • Build and lead a high-performing engineering team, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance management.
    • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented team culture.
    • Manage project scope, timelines, and resources effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
    • Stay abreast of the latest technology trends and best practices, and promote their adoption within the team.
    • Effectively communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders.

What We Need from You

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on enterprise application integration, data management, and web portal development.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing and growing software engineering teams.
  • Proven track record of successfully designing, developing, and deploying complex integration solutions for enterprise applications.
  • Deep understanding of integration patterns, technologies (e.g., APIs, ESB, message queues), and data formats.
  • Strong expertise in Azure cloud platform and data lake technologies (e.g., Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics).
  • Experience in designing and developing user-friendly and scalable web portals.
  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages relevant to each project area: Python, Java, Node.js

It Would be Nice if You Had

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Azure certifications related to data and cloud solutions.
  • Experience with specific integration platforms or tools.
  • Familiarity with employee portal platforms and technologies.
  • Experience in a similar industry or company size.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or technology communities.
