Position: Software Engineering Manager
At OPSWAT, we’re on a mission to protect the world’s most critical infrastructure. As a U.S.-based cybersecurity leader, we’re expanding our R&D footprint in Hungary — and we’re looking for a passionate, hands-on Software Engineering Manager to lead development for one of our most strategic solutions: MetaDefender Secure Managed File Transfer.
MetaDefender Secure MFT empowers enterprises to securely transfer sensitive files across systems, networks, and borders. Trusted by governments and global organizations, we are at the heart of secure data movement — and we’re expanding its future in Veszprém.
This role isn’t just about managing people — it’s about leading innovation, owning architecture, and growing a full-stack engineering team in a critical product space.
What You Will be Doing
- Build, lead, and mentor a full-stack engineering team working on MetaDefender Secure Managed File Transfer.
- Guide the design and implementation of secure, scalable backend systems (C#/.NET) and modern frontend interfaces (React, Angular, or Vue).
- Collaborate with global teams — from Vietnam to the U.S. — to shape the product roadmap and execute major initiatives.
- Champion software quality, performance, and usability while driving innovation across the stack.
- Foster a team culture built on trust, learning, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Supervise training and development of software engineering staff
- Develop a career path for all your team members, undertake performance evaluations
- Stay current with industry trends in cybersecurity, secure coding, and enterprise software development.
- Ensure your team is building with a strong focus on secure architecture, compliance, and real-world reliability.
What We Need from You
- People management skills and experience
- Ability to mentor engineers and help them with career growth
- Ability to effectively monitor and assess team productivity, ensuring alignment with project goals and timely delivery of high-quality results.
- Solid understanding of system architecture, enterprise integration, and secure development best practices.
- Strong hands-on experience in both backend (.NET/C#) and frontend (React, Angular) technologies.
- Experience with secure file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS) and deployment across Windows and Linux environments.
- Experience with agile development, rapid release cycles, and supporting customer-oriented solutions
- Ability to initiate design and implement technical features end-to-end
- Proven experience with implementing software engineering industry best practices and SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, SCM, CI, build processes, testing, and operations
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Great communication skills
- Fluent English knowledge
- Experience with working in startup environment is an advantage
- Cybersecurity domain experience is also a plus
