The Position
The Electrical Engineer will support the design, testing, and production of secure hardware systems used in OPSWAT’s cybersecurity product lines. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in hardware development, electronics testing, and secure manufacturing.
What You Will be Doing
- Assist with electrical design, schematic review, and PCB layout verification.
- Perform hardware testing, validation, and troubleshooting of prototypes and production units.
- Support firmware/hardware integration efforts with senior engineers.
- Create and update engineering documents, test reports, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
- Work hands-on in OPSWAT’s hardware test lab and manufacturing environment.
- Help evaluate components, suppliers, and hardware assemblies for reliability and quality.
- Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective-action processes for hardware issues.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, QA, and supply-chain teams to ensure hardware meets security and performance standards.
- Assist with hands-on tasks, such as crimping, soldering, and harness design.
What We Need from You
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with two years of related experience.
- Understanding of circuits, electronics, PCB design, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read schematics and follow technical documentation.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
It Would be Nice if You Had
- Experience with embedded systems or microcontrollers (Arduino, STM32, ESP32, etc.).
- Exposure to PCB design tools (Altium, KiCad, OrCAD, etc.).
- Internship or project experience in hardware design or testing.
- Knowledge of hardware manufacturing, QA, or cybersecurity hardware concepts.
- Familiar with power electronics.
- Computer Science skills.
- IT Server builds and related components.
