C++ Software Engineer - OESIS Framework
Software Engineering
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
OPSWAT, a global leader in IT, OT, and ICS critical infrastructure cybersecurity, delivers an end-to-end platform that gives public and private sector organizations and enterprises the critical advantage needed to protect their complex networks, secure their devices, and ensure compliance. Over the last 20 years our commitment to innovative technology has earned the trust of more than 1,700 organizations, governments, and institutions globally, solidifying our role in protecting the world’s critical infrastructure and securing our way of life.
The Position
The OESIS Framework is OPSWAT's cross-platform, modular framework that enables developers and technology vendors to integrate advanced endpoint security capabilities into their own products. It powers device posture assessment and compliance checking for leading SASE, SSE, ZTNA, and VPN vendors worldwide, providing detection, classification, assessment, and management of thousands of third-party applications across Windows, macOS, and Linux.
We are building the next generation of the OESIS Framework, where AI is a first-class part of both how we build (AI-assisted and agentic development workflows) and what we build (smarter detection, AI-assisted analysis of endpoint data, and automation across the product lifecycle). Every engineer on the team is expected to work AI-natively.
We are looking for hands-on C++ Software Engineers (Middle-Senior levels) to join a talented group of engineers building the OESIS Framework, one of OPSWAT's flagship cybersecurity products. You will spend most of your time hands-on with coding, with the remainder dedicated to designing new features, researching new technologies (including AI/LLM applications in endpoint security), and at the senior level, mentoring junior team members.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both building high-impact solutions and growing in a collaborative, AI-native engineering environment.
What You Will be Doing
Design, develop, implement, and test the OESIS Framework using C++ across Windows, macOS, and Linux environments
Implement support for third-party security applications using scripting languages such as Squirrel, Python, PowerShell, Lua, ...
Own features end to end: requirements clarification, design, implementation, unit and functional testing, and release with scope growing by level
Use AI coding assistants and agentic tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) as part of your daily workflow for code generation, refactoring, test creation, and debugging while remaining fully accountable for the quality of what ships
Build and share AI-assisted engineering practices on the team: effective workflows, reusable prompts/skills for recurring tasks, and review standards for AI-generated code
Prototype and evaluate AI-powered product capabilities e.g., LLM-assisted analysis of endpoint posture data, automated triage of detection gaps, or AI-accelerated support for new third-party applications
Research and apply new technologies to enhance existing features or develop new functionality
Participate in (and at senior level, lead) peer code reviews and design reviews, both giving and receiving constructive feedback
Collaborate closely with Product Management and QA to understand and deliver on product requirements
Mentor and coach junior engineers
What We Need from You
Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
3-5+ years of professional experience with a track record of feature ownership and mentoring for Senior level
Good understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and common design patterns
Experience with multi-threaded programming and system design
Excellent coding and debugging skills, including comfort navigating a large existing codebase and diagnosing issues across OS boundaries (processes, services, permissions)
An AI-native development mindset: hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and agentic tools in real development work, with the judgment to review, verify, and test AI-generated code before it ships.
Working knowledge of LLM fundamentals relevant to engineering: prompt and context design, tool/function calling, evaluating outputs, and data-privacy considerations when using AI on proprietary code
Hands-on experience conducting code and design reviews
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts
Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Development experience on Windows, Linux, and/or macOS platforms
It Would be Nice if You Had
Experience with scripting languages (Python, Squirrel, Lua, etc.)
Experience integrating LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, or similar) into tools or products; familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol), RAG, or agent frameworks
Development experience on Windows, macOS, and/or Linux with familiarity with that platform's native APIs and system layout (e.g., Win32/registry/WMI/COM and Windows services; macOS frameworks, bundles, launchd; Linux package managers, systemd, /proc).
Background in cybersecurity: endpoint protection, EDR/AV integration, CVE/vulnerability management, or device posture/compliance (SASE/ZTNA ecosystems)
Hands-on experience with DBMS (e.g., MongoDB, SQLite, PostgreSQL)
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
