We’re seeking an experienced Applicative Data Engineer to join our next-generation big data platform. Focusing on engineering semantics and business logic layers, pivotal to transforming Orca’s Perceptional AI initiatives to Reasoning and autonomous AI.

While being a cloud based solution, this role does not include engineering cloud infrastructures, nor extracting operational data into the platform landing or raw layers.

What you’ll do:

• Design and build robust, scalable, data processes, embedded in Orca’s operational applicative pipelines, alerting hundreds of ships and fleet managers worldwide.
• Apply big data engineering to business-logic processing.
• Design & Develop best practice canonical lakehouse semantic data, serving operational systems, algorithms, and human interfaces alike.
• Be a pivotal part in a highly professional data team.

• BSc\B.Eng. or an equivalent background.
• 5+ years of prior experience as Analytics or Data Engineer.
• Python proficiency (PyCharm, VScode).
• Strong SQL skills.
• Proficient in data modeling and lakehouse methodologies.
• Excellent team game.
• SU culture orientation.

• Big advantage if experienced with:
• Cloud based data solutions.
• Big-data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery etc.).
